live music

Come enjoy live music from Lowbrow Collective this Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Jaxon from 6-10pm

Lowbrow Collective is a Latin/Jam Band/Chicha group out of Dallas, TX. At its core lies the influence of the psychedelic Cumbia movement that arose out of Peru during the late 60’s and early 70’s known as Chicha. It’s members all come from different backgrounds, adding to the personality that the band has become known for. Eddie Noe Aguilar (Bass and Vox), born in Choloma, Honduras, is a multi instrumentalist (piano, guitar, trombone) and band leader for the national act Downtown Fever. Joshua L Willis (Drums, percussion, Vox), a graduate of Booker T Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, got his start in World percussion as member of their Latin American ensemble and now is an integral member to many groups in the Dallas area. Eric Willis (Author, Composer, Producer) is the wiseman of the group. His long list of contributions to music include touring with Wayman Tisdale, being MD for Melba Moore, Angela Bofil, and Mikki Howard. Tony Luna (percussion, vox) is from Fort Worth, TX, is also a full time member of the legendary Effinay’s, and has been a member of the Mavericks percussion ensemble for the past nine years. He is a full time music educator and private lessons instructor through out the DFW metroplex. He lives for his family, friends, and his pup Massimo. Felix A Tellez’ (Guitar and Vox) musical background varies from noise/experimental to jazz and pop. Wanting to connect more with his Mexican roots he sought out a group of musicians that would be willing to learn different styles. Chicha, while not a Mexican variant of Cumbia, held similar stylistic elements but allowed for “rock band” instrumentation. LowBrow’s vision is to bring a sound to the national music community, representing Latin Americans in a light that is not commonly pioneered.
